Based in Wynyard, Tasmania, our diverse group of experts brings together a wealth of experience in engineering, manufacturing, and sustainable forestry. With a shared commitment to excellence and sustainability, our team is dedicated to transforming juvenile plantation Eucalyptus Nitens into high-value mass timber products for the construction industry. Every member of our team plays a vital role in driving our mission to deliver innovative, environmentally responsible solutions that help shape the future of building.
Meet The Team
James Lantry
CEO
James is our Chief Executive Officer. He has had a strong career with expansive experience at executive and director level positions, and was the long standing Chief Operating Officer of The Hermal Group, owners of CLTP.
James is a direct, diligent and practical leader who has strongly believed in the vision of sustainable timber products from Tasmania since its inception. Formally educated in management, James has deep respect for the application of the opportunity cost of staff and resource allocation. He is passionate, committed and proudly neurologically diverse and harvests these skills in generating innovative solutions. In balancing practical real life experience with decades of management and leadership roles, James leads his team with authenticity, vulnerability and trust. He provides clear and concise instructions and directions, whilst bringing his team on the journey for his vision for the organisation. All staff joining CLTP are told 4 things - be honest, don’t look at the ground – find something to do, not my job are words I don’t understand, and if you put in you will reap the rewards.
Under James’ leadership the CLTP production facility has been transformed from operating out of a leased facility, to reinvigorating the old mill in Wynyard into an operation that can function at a level which provides certainty and profitability for the business. CLTP has also been transformed from being a business that only offered cross laminated timber to one that offers the full range of CLT, glue lam, DAR and single process timber products. James is determined to build a strong passionate team who working diligently to cement the CLTP brand as a formidable player in the building industry, utilising plantation hardwood in an efficient and environmentally considered approach, to create pieces of individualised artwork for buildings across Australia, while maintaining the family business feel.
Amanda Sharman
Business Services Manager

Amanda is a qualified accountant with a management accounting background. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction, a Graduate Certificate in Chartered Accounting Foundations and is an Associate member of CPA Australia.
Amanda is a foundational member of CLTP Tasmania, having commenced with the company in 2019 prior to establishment of CLTP’s initial pilot facility. Her team within CLTP are responsible for all financial functions of the business, whilst also pursuing corporate governance initiatives and system developments to support the growth of the business across all functional areas of operation.
In 2022 Amanda was a recipient of the TFFPN Women in Leadership Scholarship, enabling her to complete the AICD Foundations of Directorship course alongside two other peers within the industry. She was elected to the TFFPN board as a Nominee Director in 2023 and currently assumes the role of Treasurer, as well as leading the TFFPN’s Finance and Risk committee.
Amanda is passionate about CLTP Tasmania’s “Plantation to Project” vision and is proud to be part of a company contributing innovative and sustainable timber solutions to the construction industry.
Kahla Summers
Production Manager
Kahla commenced with CLTP in October 2023 as a Production Planner, bringing her background in manufacturing from an extensive career with a dairy industry giant, to create and solidify process improvements relating to lean manufacturing. In previous employment, Kahla implemented various systems such as SAP and was also the first female production Team Leader within Fonterra at the age of 22. Prior to departing Fonterra, Kahla reviewed a production process with a minimal cost outlay, to create a million dollar annual increase in production throughput, which was then shared across the organisation for implementation.
After making significant improvements to the production planning for our site to meet customer orders and expectations, Kahla was promoted to the Production Manager role which oversees the Deep Creek site across production, logistics and the maintenance steam within the organisation. Kahla’s vulnerable and people focused leadership style has helped propel the production process at CLTP with an increased focus on people management and getting the best out of her team.
Michael Thompson
Logistics & Inventory Manager
Michael is the leader of our Logistics and Inventory team who coordinates our site logistics focused on efficient storage and timely deliveries to customers, including our inventory storeroom and site stations. He has a empathetic and honest approach to leadership, with a can do attitude, and a focus on constantly reviewing processes and finding improvements and bringing people on a lean journey.
With over 25 years of experience in customer service and advanced manufacturing, including FMCG, roadside assistance, and OEM support to the mining industry, Michael strives to exceed our customer's expectations of service. With a focus on safety, quality, time-critical response and value for money, Michael always aims to deliver the best possible outcomes for all stakeholders. Bringing his experience and strong background in lean manufacturing and a passion for continuous improvement and developing people, Micheal has propelled our logistics and inventory processes on site, which are constantly being reviewed and improved.
Michael is also a Team Leader in the SWE training provided by Productivity Improvers, supporting with onboarding lean principles and systems locally, and he has brought this knowledge and experience to CLTP. He holds a Cert III in Competitive Systems and Practices (Lean Manufacturing). Recently he has implemented a new inventory control system to manage site consumables, and is a vital member as we implement a whole of site stock management system.
